Pacific Rim 2?

So it seems that when we thought that we wouldn’t get a 2nd one.  A 2nd one is in the making. Pacific Rim 2 is in production. And they even have a title for it. PACIFIC RIM 2: UPRISING

The New Logo

I found this article while scrolling through my Facebook. I’ll leave a link here to it.  Its provided by my friends at moviepilot.com.  But it goes into detail about the new cast, whose directing, producing and who may or may not be returning.

I will leave you with this, we will have two newcomers to the cast. One will be John Boyega of Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens and soon to be Star Wars Episode VIII The Last Jedi. It is said that he will be playing Stacker Pentecost’s (Idris Elba) son.  And there will be a new female lead in 18 year old pop starlet Cailee Spaeny. (I honestly have no idea who she is) But here’s hoping she’s a good addition to the cast.

Still John Boyega tweeted out

So read the article to find out all the details on the latest Pacific Rim. And see when it’s projected release date will be. I’m kind of excited for it. What I liked about Pacific Rim it took the Mecha’s that I love in anime and brought it to reality.  Enjoy!

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

I remember when they made the announcement of Power Rangers is going to be redone for the big screen.  At first I said dear god no. I thought they were going to be doing these recent Power Rangers shows. Which I’m still amazed that this series is still going on.

I mean the original show as cheesy as it was. But if you grew up in the 90’s, when that show came out it was sick. And I watched every day after school. Kept up with the original series, even when their zords took new forms. And when the original movie was released man it was sick. But then after that it went turbo the neo and whatever else it got ridicules
So how will the new movie stock up to the original. Well just from seeing the trailer, it looks good. And I’m will be checking out when it is released March 24th of this year. The suits look sick. The Zords look phenomenal, and Bryan Cranston as Zordon should be interesting to see.

And Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa, she makes Rita look sexy in the new green cat suit. And from just the trailer alone you can see this Rita is a lot darker that the original. Which I believe this Power Rangers movie won’t be the cheesy Power Rangers of old.

I believe this movie will be one that true fans of the original Power Rangers will truly love.  It seems to have a darker twist, and a better origin story.

I mean even Goldar has gotten a grittier look Look at some of these side by side comparisons of the original show with the new movie

Another question is will we be getting a post credit scene.  A post credit scene would be an awesome way to introduce the Green Ranger aka Tommy Oliver. One things I wish is that Jason David Frank the original Green Ranger turned White Ranger had a small role in the movie. But then again, the movie isn’t out who’s not to say he doesn’t have a cameo. Even though the producer said he doesn’t, but I like to think so.

Well these are just my thoughts on this upcoming Power Rangers movie. What do you guys think. Take care yall.

Ghost In the Shell?

So this morning I was on YouTube scanning through videos like I do. And I came across the Ghost in the Shell trailer once again. I’ve seen it a few times. But then I started to think back to the other anime turned live action movie. Yes the tragic film called Dragonball Evolution.
And that movie with the technological advances we’ve had in cinema, could of been 100 times more better. But they ruined it, by shoddy graphics and terrible explanations of the characters and storyline and uuugghhh! No I won’t get into this right now. As you can tell though Dragonball is one of my favorite anime and manga franchises and literally my gateway into the world of anime but let me focus.

So Ghost in the Shell is seriously one of the most intense and thought provoking animes I’ve seen at that time when a friend of mines was recommending different anime shows and movies to watch and that was at the top of his list. So when I saw it, I was amazed. It was really great, I loved the characters the development of the story and the series was great. Along with the government corruption  and the fact the show kept you on your toes with the different criminals Section 9 stopped. Like Laughing Man the Puppet Master and Individual 11. I loved it.

So with all this in mind, after watching the trailer yet again. I wondered just how will this play out in a live action movie. They do have a lot of scenes in the trailer that resemble the anime. (Click here for an article by ign.com showing the movie to anime comparisons.)

Even the characters look really close to the character designs from the original movie. But what about the actually movie itself.

Well in my honest opinion, and again it’s just my opinion I believe they will change the story line up. How I reached that conclusion, it was a line that Scarlett Johansson was told. As Major Kusanagi was told that her life was stolen from her. And one thing I remembered is that it wasn’t, she knew exactly what was done to her. So that’s what sent my mind thinking. I went looking to see if anyone else felt the same way. I found an article on Forbes.com that went into detail about not just that part that I was thinking about. (Click here for article)
But it went even deeper about the changes that more than likely were done to westernize the movie.

Now will I be seeing this? More than likely, yes. I have to, I need to do a visual comparison. So what I have to do is go in and view it as completely different telling of Ghost in the Shell. Look at it as whe new movie. So I’m not going to say it’s going to be terrible without seeing it first. But I am on edge that will change it up to much. I will be watching the original before I go and watch this new version.

This is just my opinion so how do feel about the movie. Sorry if it just feels like a rant, but to put it out.

Future of Divergent Series

Well who has read the three book series Divergent? Or even watched the the movies it has produced. Well I’m sure you are well aware of that the creators of the movie are wanting to finish the next movie via a tv movie according to an article from Moviepilot.com.

Click here for a link to the article.

And according to the article the main star of the movie series Shailene Woodley said she will not be in a television series.  For more information about this check out the article which is linked above.

I’m not surprised the series is taking this route. I have read the books all three of them. And they were good.  Of course it was very Hunger Gamesish dealing with a post apocalyptic futu re that young adults try to survive. But I believe the downfall of this movie series was due to the fact that it was seriouslychanged from the book.  And when you get to Allegiant it was completely different.

Change isn’t bad, you kind of expect to see it in movie adaptations of books but that change was to me ridiculous. But what do yall think.
